Yeovil Junction

Both the Pen Mill and Junction lines were worked by diesel traction by the time this view was recorded

in September 1965. The elevated double-track in the foreground is the ex-LSWR line (soon to be singled);

Yeovil Junction is out of view, to the left. This view also displays the ''sweeping'' nature of the Pen Mill

line through the hills. David Glasspool Collection.

The Station Master's house is viewed on 5th September 2004 and it is evident it has changed little

since opening. Notable differences are the front porch (formerly it just had the roof canopy) and the

garage extension on the left. David Glasspool

The spur from the Pen Mill line is observed in the evening sunshine on 5th September 2004. The

splendid semaphore signal gantry is joined in this view by a single semaphore in the background,

just left of centre, marking the point of culmination. David Glasspool

The LSWR goods shed remains extant in what is now the car park, and this and the GWR transfer

shed are the only structures which are of origins before the station building in the early 20th Century.

The shed here, viewed on 5th September 2004, never contained rails itself - a track ran parallel with

the side furthest from the camera, protected by a small canopy. David Glasspool
