The ''down'' yard is seen on 22nd January 2006 in this westward view, the lifting of several sidings

being in evidence. There used to be a public footpath routed through the middle of the pictured area.

Catch points are fitted immediately before the junction of the ''down'' yard and the North Kent

Line. On this occasion they are switched to derailment mode, which will allow any runaway stock

to be intercepted before it reaches the running lines. This is a 22nd January 2006 view towards

Higham. David Glasspool

The structures in the background of this 22nd January 2006 view of the eastern boundaries of

the ''down'' yard, are those of Westinghouse Rail Systems. The single-track branch to Grain is

sandwiched in-between the infrastructure wagons and the buildings.
