Hollingbourne Station

Hollingbourne

A second eastward view from the nearby level crossing includes both platform extensions. The

extension at the far end of the ''down'' platform marks the former position of the signal box.

A view of the façade reveals the splendid crème brickwork with orange lining, but also shows that

all ground floor windows have been boarded up. Those on the upper floor even have metal grills

across the glazing. On the plus side, unlike the platform canopies, the entrance canopy retains its

ornate valance. David Glasspool

Further scrutiny of the main building shows partial demolition on the right-hand side, more boarded

up windows, and some arbitrary patches of crème paint. Also in evidence is a newly-slated roof, but

as will soon be seen, this did not last for long. David Glasspool
