Stone Crossing

A westward view from platform 1 on 3rd March 2003 - during the ''Connex'' era - reveals the

white waiting shelters and still extant, but now faded, red of the Network SouthEast Business

Sector. David Glasspool

Stone Crossing

The waiting shelters were spruced up in 2004 and the lamp posts painted in the contemporary blue

colour of the day. It is pleasing that these small structures have not been replaced by the seemingly

customary 'bus shelters'. Still plenty of green in evidence in this 10th November 2004 view.

Stone Crossing

During hotter weather in the year - on 1st July 2004 - a trusty old Class 37 trundled through with

a Hoo Junction to Hither Green infrastructure train. The locomotive is No. 37203 and it wears the

1994-introduced 'Mainline' blue livery. This was one of two Class 37s regularly seen on the North

Kent Line in the twilight years of the type, the other being No. 37109. The latter remains on home

territory, albeit now in store at Hither Green. David Glasspool
